Managing Productivity Guilt

Make time for free time during the sports hiatus.

The pressure to be productive during this pandemic can be overwhelming. As important as it is to take advantage of this time and use it wisely, that doesn't mean you have to be doing so every second of every day.

There is a lot going on in the world, and a lot of emotions you might be going through, from anxiety and fear to cabin fever, stress or guilt.

Know this:
It's absolutely ok to take time for yourself to do nothing productive.

Sure, you probably have some extra time on your hands to learn news skills, create strategies for your brand, or catch up on things in your business. And you should definitely take advantage of that when you feel up to the challenge, as it will better prepare you for the future.

But it's also 100% ok to mix in some days where you get up whenever you want and the only thing on your to-do list is to watch Netflix or just focus on your kids.

Refinery29 wrote an article called "No, You Don’t Need To Use Isolation To Write A Novel" which ends with the following quote:

"What if there is no need to use this time to do anything?
What if it's a gift that we don't have to do something with?"

Take time to enjoy the extra free time. Whether it's taking a nap, binge watching a show, reading that book on your nightstand or spending time just being with your kids and your family, make sure you enjoy the extra time you've been given. Not everyone is lucky enough to have it!

We'll keep the livestreams and access to experts coming for you to grow and prepare for the future. You'll see some of the awesome upcoming topics we've got coming your way below.

But, we get it if you'd rather watch those replays later, and instead enjoy a day of free time that's all about what you WANT to do, and not what you feel you should be doing.

So stay safe, stay healthy, and go ahead, plan out a day (or more than one!) to do absolutely nothing!
